About Us
What we Do
The Women’s Safety and Justice Initiative (WOSJI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where all women and girls can live, work, and thrive without fear of violence, discrimination, or injustice. Established in 2018, WOSJI has emerged as a leading global advocate for advancing women’s rights and empowerment, with a focus on addressing the systemic challenges that undermine the safety, security, and equal participation of women in society.
Our Mission
Breaking Barriers, Building Safe and Empowered Communities
Our Vision
Empowering Women, Transforming the Future
At the core of WOSJI's mission is a deep commitment to challenging the deeply entrenched gender-based inequalities and harmful societal norms that continue to perpetuate violence, marginalization, and exclusion against women and girls. Through a multi-pronged approach encompassing legal reform, community-based prevention, economic empowerment, and inclusive representation, WOSJI works tirelessly to dismantle the structural barriers that deny women and girls their fundamental human rights and dignity.
To strengthen legal protections and improve justice system responses to gender-based violence and discrimination;
To empower and mobilize local communities, especially women and girls, to develop and lead grassroots prevention and support initiatives
To advance the economic, political, and social inclusion of women, ensuring their meaningful participation in decision-making processes at all levels.
By working in close collaboration with a network of local, national, and global partners, WOSJI leverages its expertise, resources, and advocacy platforms to amplify the voices of women human rights defenders and catalyze sustainable, systemic change. Through its holistic and intersectional approach, the organization is committed to fostering a world where women and girls can live free from fear, with equal access to justice, opportunity, and leadership.
