Our Story
Building a Future of Safety & Justice
The Women’s Safety and Justice Initiative (WOSJI) works to create communities where women and girls can live, work and thrive without fear of violence, discrimination or injustice.
WOSJI’s work brings together community awareness, legal-rights education, violence prevention, women’s empowerment and locally led action. Through collaboration with communities and partners, WOSJI seeks to strengthen protection, participation and access to justice for women and girls.
Promoting safer environments for women and girls.
Strengthening access to rights, protection and justice.
Supporting women’s meaningful participation and leadership.
The Women’s Safety and Justice Initiative
At WOSJI, our story begins with a fundamental belief – that every community deserves access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive. Founded in 2024, our non-governmental organization emerged from the recognition that too many around the world still lacked basic necessities and were trapped in cycles of poverty and inequity.
Holistic Action for Justice & Equality
WOSJI works with communities and partners to advance women's safety, rights and justice through practical, locally led action. Our approach brings together awareness, protection, legal-rights education and meaningful participation.
Solutions shaped with communities around real priorities.
Survivor-centred and do-no-harm approaches.
Connecting women with rights education and access to justice.
Working with partners to create sustainable change.
Holistic Action for Justice, Equity, and Sustainability
Inspired by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we set out to address this global challenge through innovative, community-driven initiatives. Our name, WOSJI, stands for “Whole-Systems Justice Initiative” – reflecting our holistic approach to sustainable development. We work hand-in-hand with local leaders to co-create solutions that tackle interconnected issues like food security, clean water access, renewable energy, and economic empowerment.
Empowering Communities, Advancing Justice
WOSJI works with women, girls and communities to promote safety, justice, rights and dignity. Through locally led action, awareness, legal-rights education and survivor-centred approaches, we help communities build safer and more inclusive environments.
