WOSJI is a national NGO based in Mogadishu, established in 2024 to contribute to safer, more just and more inclusive communities for women and girls. Its early work has included community sessions on gender-based violence, women’s protection and legal rights, trauma awareness and public dialogue.

Empowering Women Through Policy and Reform

The Women’s Safety and Justice Initiative (WOSJI) is committed to advancing the rights and safety of women through impactful advocacy and legislative reform. By promoting policies that protect and empower women, WSJI addresses the systemic barriers that contribute to gender-based violence and inequality. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves to live free from fear, discrimination, and harm.

What we are Doing

Driving Change Through Research and Collaboration

WSJI uses data-driven research and strategic partnerships to influence policy decisions at all levels. We engage directly with lawmakers, civil society organizations, and stakeholders to craft legislation that reflects the real needs of women in diverse communities. Our work focuses on strengthening legal frameworks and ensuring accessible support systems for survivors, holding institutions accountable for women’s safety and justice.
